The Dover Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Donald Buxton, will launch the second
half of its 2017-2018 50th Anniversary Season on Sunday, March 18, 2018. The concert will be
held at 3:00 p.m. at Dover Downs Rollins Center.
The centerpiece of our Spring Classical Concert will be a performance of the Beethoven Violin Concerto by Stefan Xhori, our talented concertmaster. Additional works for this concert are Shostakovich’s Overture Festivo, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, and Sibelius’ Finlandia.
Mr. Xhori continues to perform with a number of organizations in the tristate area since he
moved to the US from Albania, his native country, in 1993. Since he has become concertmaster
of the Dover Symphony, he has developed a following of loyal listeners for his solo
performances. He teaches violin for the Music School of Delaware and at his home studio.
Valet parking will be available. Sweet treats will continue to be offered at our Bake Sale.
