MODERN MATURITY CENTER HOSTS FRIDAY NIGHT FRY-UP

The Modern Maturity Center hosts its second Friday Night Fry-Up, Friday, April 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Eat-in or carry-out. Stop by and pick up dinner for the family. This is a fundraiser for MMC to support programs for older adults in the aftermath of state funding cuts. Two menu choices are available - $15 for fried fish, mac & cheese, cole slaw, corn on the cob, cornbread and a beverage or $15 for fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, cole slaw, corn on the cob, cornbread and a beverage.. Desserts are also available for purchase for $4 each - homemade strawberry shortcake or a sundae bar. A cash bar will be open as well. Advance ticket sales only. Tickets may be purchased at the Modern Maturity Center Member Services desk, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or call 302-734-1200 x167 for more information. From Woods to Farm: How to Survive in the American Colonies

EARTH DAY 2018 - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Kent County Parks & Recreation is looking for families, individuals, groups, and volunteer organizations to help Kent County observe Earth Day 2018 at Browns Branch County Park on Saturday, April 21.  Volunteers are asked to arrive for check-in between 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.  Come and enjoy the experience of leaving a place better than you found it.

The project site and parking area is located at located at 1417 Killens Pond Road, Harrington, Delaware 19952

There will be something for all ages and abilities to do. Trail Surfacing, Tree Planting and Site Clean-up (removing unwanted vegetation). Volunteers will be needed to rake and level trail surfacing material (stone dust) and plant various species of trees within the park.  For safety purposes, volunteers will work under the supervision of “Team Leaders” and Parks staff.
