The New “Gig” Economy:
Working as an Independent Contractor
or Consultant

Wednesday, January 9, 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM
For business stage: Idea or Startup

In the new “gig” economy, jobs are replaced with temporary positions filled by independent contractors and consultants. A study by Intuit predicted that by 2020, 40 percent of American workers will be independent contractors. Whether by choice or circumstance, are you ready to work a “gig”?

This workshop highlights differences between being an employee and working as an independent contractor or consultant. Janet Wurtzel of the Delaware Libraries will cover topics like compensation considerations, benefits, possible expenses and finding customers. Get ready for the future!
