First Saturday: Powerful Women
Join the Heritage Park for the monthly First Saturday in the First State program. The many partners provide special thematic programming that changes each month. 

Here is a list of programs for "Powerful Women" on March 3:

Biggs Kids: Famous Women 
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
Biggs Museum of American Art
Join in the celebration of powerful women by learning about an important woman from our country’s history and creating a portrait of her. Then take a scavenger hunt around the museum to learn about the famous women in our collection.

The Fairer Sex: Life as a Woman in the 18th and 19th Centuries
9 am – 4:30 p.m.
John Bell House on The Green
Discover the culture and life of women in centuries past. Learn about the restrictions they lived under, and ones who challenged those restrictions.

Guided Tours of Legislative Hall.
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

The Road to the Vote
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
Old State House on The Green
Guided tours will highlight the suffrage movement in Delaware and the discussions held in Delaware’s historic Capitol regarding the passage of the 19th Amendment.

The Women of Victor
9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 
Johnson Victrola Museum
Guided tours will highlight the female artists who recorded for the Victor Talking Machine Company accompanied by 78-rpm recordings played on authentic talking machines.

Silent Sentinels
10:30 a.m.
Delaware Public Archives
Dr. Cynthia Newton will present a program on women in history who exercised political power before they legally had any political rights, with specific focus on Delaware women and how they impact women and power today.

Women of The Green Walking Tour 
10 am – 3 pm
Meet at the John Bell House on The Green. 
Learn about women’s contributions to the history of The Green.

Tours of the Governor’s House 
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
At Woodburn – The Governor’s House 

Femme Fatale: Delaware’s Female Murderers
1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Kent County Courthouse at 38 The Green
From Cordelia Botkin to Patty Cannon, learn of some of the most lethal women in Delaware history.
