DOVER, DE --- Wesley College
Professor of Business Management Dr. Kathleen Jacobs, was one of more than 300
business people that attended the 9th Annual Kent County Economic Summit
Conference at Delaware Technical Community College on September 19, 2017.
The purpose of the Summit is to
advance the common goal of improving the economic life in Kent County,
Delaware. The Conference is presented in collaboration with the Central
Delaware Business and Entrepreneurship Consortium.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses (small and large) to learn about current and new trends so that attendees can understand how their business performance can be enhanced by serving their customer base in a more up-to-date way,” said Dr. Jacobs.
Dr. Jacobs attended “The New Era of Marketing” breakout session which included a panel of top executives from corporations such as Comcast (headquartered in Philadelphia) and iHeartRadio (headquartered in New York). Topics included trends to help businesses get their name out into the public arena.
The event featured Governor John
Carney as the keynote speaker. His presentation emphasized how businesses can
grow, form partnerships between the private and public sectors. He also spoke
on the importance of technology in the advancement of business and how many
businesses are truly technology companies disguised as businesses.
“I attend the conference every year,” said Dr. Jacobs. “I always learn something new each year to bring into the classroom so that I can share with my students what is current and important in the business world.”
