Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame welcomes Bill Allen, Chef Dana Herbert and Dr. Devona Williams

The Leadership Council of Junior Achievement of Delaware is pleased to announce the 2020 inductees to the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame, who will be honored during a virtual event on October 20, 2020.

 

It is with great excitement that Junior Achievement of Delaware welcomes William “Bill” Allen, Jr. of ALW Sourcing LLC; Chef Dana Herbert of Desserts by Dana; and Dr. Devona E.G. Williams of Goeins- Williams Associates. The event is produced by the Junior Achievement of Delaware Young Professionals Board and is co-Chaired by Teri Quinn-Gray, Charles Madden and Tim Butler.

 

"The Hall of Fame exists to provide successful business role models to the young people Junior Achievement serves. This year we are taking a first step to ensure these role models reflect the diversity of local JA students,” said Rob Eppes, President of Junior Achievement of Delaware.

 

Mr. William “Bill” Allen, Jr. is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ALW Sourcing LLC, a collections and customer contact solutions business founded in 2006. Mr. Allen brings a wealth of knowledge, entrepreneurship, and industry experience to his leadership positions.

 

Expert Pastry and Savory Chef Dana Herbert has created a successful business around his love of food while crafting a unique and sought-after personal brand following big wins on TLC’s Cake Boss: Next Great Baker and Rachel Ray’s Celebrity Cake-off.

 

Dr. Devona Williams founded Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc. (GWA) in 1986 to help organizations achieve greater productivity in strategic work environments.  Dr. Allen is also a frequent speaker on business, diversity, leadership, motivation, and success.

 

Inductees will be honored during a virtual event beginning at 4:00 p.m., with several pre-event upgrades available, including limited capacity meet and greet salons with the inductees, and young professionals networking sessions. The main presentation will include testimonial introductions of the inductees and acceptance remarks.

In 2019, Calvert A. Morgan, Jr, Sam and Mariah Calagione, and Thomas H. Draper joined the Hall of Fame. Other recent inductees include Mike Bowman, Bob Perkins, Terry Strine, Ernie Dianastasis, Rob Siegfried, Ellen Kullman, Al Fasnacht, Fred Sears and Paul McConnell.

 

Founded in 1990, The Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame honors business and community leaders whose work has had a positive impact on Workforce and Economic Development in the region.  Originally a partnership with Hagley Museum & Library with a focus on inducting historical laureates, today the Hall of Fame features current and recent leaders whose influence is known and felt by their contemporaries.
