Dover, DE

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Delaware Chapter, hosted a ribbon cutting at the CDCC on Wednesday, May 16. The event was held to celebrate the organization’s new membership with the Chamber, and its involvement in the Dover community.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary organization focused on raising funds for research and patient support programs for people living with a blood cancer - leukemia, lymphomas or myeloma. On a local level, the LLS directly helps patients in the community; patient financial assistance programs, support groups, and educational programs are among the many things the organization offers to assist patients in Delaware each year. Additionally, the LLS offers healthcare provider education, both in-person and online.

Last year, the LLS launched an event in Dover called Light the Night and it will be returning this year. Light the Night is the only nighttime walk event focused on bringing together patients, survivors and supporters. In addition to recognizing patients and survivors, Light the Night remembers those who we have lost.

“We are excited to officially kick-off our 2nd year in the community with this event!” said Brook Rowe, Executive Director of the Delaware Chapter.
