Dover, DE

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Steppin in Style on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 1 pm.  The ceremony was held at their location at 2131 S. DuPont Highway in Dover.  Chamber staff, ambassadors, and friends joined Marsha Guy as she celebrated the opening of her new business, Steppin in Style. Marsha is excited to have this ribbon cutting serve as her announcement to the members of the Dover community that Steppin in Style is here and is ready to serve them!

Steppin in Style is a fully functioning Boutique that specializes in providing service to plus size women in a beautiful, exquisitely tres chic atmosphere. While smaller sizes are also available, the target audience for Steppin in Style is plus size ladies who are seeking fashionable, comfortable clothing in what have now become the average sizes for American women (16 – 18). Steppin in Style offers a large inventory of special event attire, business attire, clergy attire, date night and everyday wear, including shoes, handbags, etc. Steppin in Style embraces curvy plus size women and gives them a place to shop that takes the stress out of finding well-fitting fashions for any occasion. Marsha has worked hard to create a place that is friendly and affordable so that, when her clients “step out,” they are Steppin in Style.

Steppin in Style’s owner, Marsha Guy, feels that plus sized women often have very few clothing choices in mainline stores. She believes that women of any size deserve the opportunity to find clothes that fit properly and fashionably without experiencing the frustration of tugging and pulling on clothes that are clearly designed without their body type in mind. Marsha chooses to see the beauty in women – all women. This foundational sentiment was the motivation for her shop’s slogan “the place where beauty and fashion meet.”

A proud member of the Central Delaware community, Marsha is anxious to find ways to give back to the Dover community. With a clear understanding that children are our future, Marsha is committed to providing scholarships to help young people as they pursue a college or trade school education. This effort began after the death of Marsha’s mother in 2015 after a full life of 96 years. These scholarships are funded in a variety of ways including fund raisers and other donations and are given in memory of Marsha’s mom. Marsha loves to see the community come together to provide funding or offer experiences that will enhance and enrich the education of our next generation of leaders.

Please join the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce in congratulating Marsha and her boutique, Steppin in Style.
