The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for CSG Financial, on Saturday, August 3rd, at 10am. The event was held at 3980 North Dupont Highway in Dover, Delaware. Chamber members and friends joined founder and CEO, Steven Calio, CFO, Zachary Stone, and COO, Shane Galante, to celebrate their business as new members!
CSG Financial is a new business offering full service financial planning, and investment management services. They are a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), headquartered in Dover, whose mission is to bring unbiased financial planning advice to their clients. Whether it’s from an asset management standpoint, or from an advice standpoint - they align themselves with the needs of their clients.
CSG Financial offers three types of relationships/services: 1) fee-for-service ongoing financial-planning & implementation 2) one-time cost for full financial plan without implementation 3) Investment management on a declining fee-schedule. They do not receive commissions or have a parent insurance or investment company. Their investment services are offered through Charles Schwab and Betterment.
“When someone seeks out our recommendation regarding an area of planning, we want them to know that the answers we give them are the same answers we’d give ourselves, or even our own closest relatives. Simply put - we represent our client’s interests at all times, not a large investment or insurance corporation, and/or their shareholders. We do not have account minimums either,” explained CFO, Stone.
This team of three is excited to share their knowledge and expertise with their clients. “The three of us started our financial planning careers at one of the largest wealth management firms in Delaware. After many successful years, realized we were not able to serve clients in the way we had originally hoped. We were earning income mainly from commissions, and found ourselves more a "salesperson,” than a true financial planner. This is what sparked the founding of our own fee-only, fiduciary planning firm that focuses solely on fee-based planning & investment management,” continued Stone.
Stone and the CSG Financial team is especially excited to get more involved in the community that raised them, as well as to keep Stone’s family tradition of being a Kent County business owner for 30 years and counting. This company has participated in charity golf outings and raised awareness for Men’s mental health amongst other things. However, they are most proud of being able to provide free financial planning lessons to the Delaware State Entrepreneurship program at Delaware State University. “It is fun to bring what seems like basic knowledge to us, to a broader audience of people who may have never been educated on this information,” shared, Stone.
Their team is excited to participate in CDCC events as they grow but have a great interest in setting up “sport drives” (provide/donate things like cleats, bats, football helmets, and other equipment) for children in Kent County. “Giving back in this way is something we think would bring great joy to ourselves, as well as help out and give back to the community,” concluded Stone.
