U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) was honored with the Friend of Farm Bureau Award Monday in recognition of his legislative support of American farmers and ranchers.
The award, offered by the American Farm Bureau Federation, was presented by Delaware Farm Bureau President Richard Wilkins at the DEFB office in Camden. Friend of Farm Bureau Award presented to Carper at Stayton Farm in Houston

U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) was honored with the Friend of Farm Bureau Award Friday afternoon in recognition of his legislative support of American farmers and ranchers.
The award, offered by the American Farm Bureau Federation, was presented by Delaware Farm Bureau Board President Richard Wilkins at Stayton Farm in Houston. The family farm is now operated by Delaware Farm Bureau Member and Delaware Agriculture Museum President Grier Stayton. They primarily produce corn, soybeans and hay from 200 of its 300 acres, but Stayton also practices cover crops plantings, permanent cover plantings, filter strips along ditches, irrigation with water management practices and crop species diversity. He practices woodland management on the remaining 100 acres of his farm.... Read more

Sixty-four percent of area businesses view a resurgence of COVID-19 as the greatest foreseen challenge to their business, followed by an uncertain operating environment (46%) and the cost to modify workspaces (43%) for their employees, a WSFS Bank survey of 300 businesses throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and Delaware found.
Despite these concerns, more than half of business leaders surveyed (54%) indicated they are well positioned for the future and have already experienced positive growth, largely due to modified business models, new and efficient ways to work, and pivoting toward new ways to plan for an uncertain future. Minority-owned businesses are even more bullish, with 56 percent expecting revenue increases in the next 12 months as a result of pivoting how they operate.... Read more

DART Offers Free Rides to Veterans in Recognition of Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, DART is offering free rides to Veterans on all Statewide bus services. Veterans displaying a Veteran’s ID card (this would also cover spouses and partners) or DD 214 can ride for free on all DART bus services all day.

“In honor of Veterans Day, DTC is happy to once again offer free bus rides to the men and women who proudly serve our country in the military and to veterans who have served, in recognition of their dedication and sacrifice,” said DTC CEO John Sisson.

DART thanks our Veterans for their service!

Riders must wear face coverings when riding any DART bus, Fixed Route or Paratransit. Riders not wearing face coverings will not be permitted to board the bus. Children 12 years and under are not required to wear a face covering nor are individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition.
