Inaugural Lecture: “Touching Freedom”
In recognition of the
millions of servicemen and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting
American freedom and values throughout the world, the inaugural “Celebrate our
Heritage” lecture titled “Touching Freedom” by Christiane Warren, PH.D., commemorates
the 35th year since fall of the Berlin Wall (1989) and the 30th
year of the completed mission of Berlin Brigade (1994).
The author will present
a preview of her upcoming book with the same title, by sharing images,
artifacts and her unique personal insights as an eyewitness to history, as well
as her expertise as a historian. Christiane Warren lived in West Berlin and
worked for Berlin Brigade as a translator. In her talk, she will offer
first-hand accounts of life at the frontline of the Cold War, as well as
provide the necessary historical context.
Please join us in celebrating
our veterans and our nation’s success in ending the Cold War through this
engaging presentation of first-hand experiences and insights.
The event is free to the public.
Light refreshments will be served
