The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted Heart of the Home for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 5. The event celebrated the grand opening for the company that officially started offering its services in June of this year.

Heart of the Home is a non-medical homecare agency that assists seniors with their everyday life and tasks that might be more difficult for them as they begin to age. The company offers companion care services which include transportation, shopping, cleaning, cooking and assisting with hobbies. Personal care services like dressing, bathing and toileting are also included.

Kimberly Willoughby, Director, started the company when home assistance agencies weren’t meeting every need for her aging family members. She explains: “I saw my loved ones aging and needing more assistance with daily tasks. I knew that they had a large family to assist them but not everyone has that. Our goal is to reach out and help those seniors that not only need help with tasks but would also like to know that they have someone to call for help. No one is alone when they are under Heart of the Home’s services. That is why we say, ‘Loving seniors like family.’”

Willoughby and her family have roots here and Delaware will always be home to them. They plan to stay in Central Delaware but to service the entire state.

“We are excited to watch our agency grow and continue to touch the lives of seniors in Delaware.”
