The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Westminster Village’s Transitional Care Unit at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.  The ceremony was held at their location at 1175 McKee Road in Dover. Chamber staff, ambassadors, and friends joined the folks at Westminster as they celebrated a relaunch of their 14-bed transitional care hospital to home program, Your Path to Possible.

In 2017, Westminster Village Dover completed a $10 million renovation which included a transitional care unit featuring 14 private rooms each with private walk in showers. Since that time, they ahve had great success stores and want the public to understand the great service that is available for the Dover community. Their Transitional Care Services team views caring as a calling; how they treat patients as individuals is just as important as the health care they provide. Patients will benefit from their not-for-profit distinction that gives them the freedom to get to know each patient individually and concentrate on their needs.

Guided by the life and teachings of Jesus, the mission of Presbyterian Senior Living is to provide compassionate, vibrant and supportive communities and services to promote wholeness of body, mind and spirit. Many people need additional therapy and care as they leave the hospital, but are not quite ready to go home.  Transitional Care Services at Westminster Village is their path to the possible.  Your Path to Possible provides patients with Transitional Care, including short term rehabilitation, Long Term Care, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Independent Living. The caring team at Westminster is on hand to help patients meet their personal wellness, activity goals and get them back to their lives and homes.

Westminster Village is Kent County’s ONLY continuing care retirement community, providing a vibrant and engaging environment for seniors to thrive and grow. Volunteerism is a key component to this initiative. Over 75% of the residents at Westminster Village volunteer in the community, which is well above the state’s average of 20% for seniors. Westminster Village supports Toys for Tots, Lions Club, Ronald McDonald House, Flags for Heroes and Be A Santa to a Senior amongst others. Westminster Village also strives to host various intergenerational events involving local schools and youth groups including Caesar Rodney Silent Helpers, FSMA Leo Club and Girls on the Run. We are continuously seeking community involvement opportunities.

Please join the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce in congratulating Westminster Village on the relaunch of their Transitional Care Unit and their program, Your Path to Possible!
