TidalHealth welcomes renowned psychologist to speak on Living with an ICD
TidalHealth is pleased to welcome renowned psychologist Dr. Samuel F. Sears to its Peninsula Regional campus on Wednesday, July 14 for the presentation “Successful Living with an ICD.” Dr. Sears is considered the world authority on the unique life situations faced by patients living with an implantable cardiac device (ICD), publishing well over 150 articles on the subject. This presentation is for people with an ICD and their families.
Dr. Sears will discuss common challenges and psychological issues faced by people living with cardiac devices, and will answer questions from the audience. He’s a professor at East Carolina University in the Departments of Psychology and Cardiovascular Sciences, an ICD researcher, clinician and consultant.  Dr. Sears presents across the nation on this important topic.
The event is sponsored by the TidalHealth Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute and its ICD support group, which was formed to support and optimize the quality of life for people with ICDs. It will be held in the Avery W. Hall Educational Center auditorium on the TidalHealth Peninsula Regional campus at 10 a.m.
