KSI’s Board of Directors Selects New Officers

Kent-Sussex Industries, Inc. (KSI). In June 2021, KSI’s Board of Directors selected its new officers to help the organization continue improving programming capacity and quality for Delawareans with disabilities during the next fiscal year.
Dr. Donna Smith-Moore was named Chair of the KSI Board of Directors. Dr. Smith-Moore is Adjunct Faculty and Doctoral Dissertation Committee Member with Wilmington University. She is also Outreach and Education Coordinator for Senior Medicare Patrol. Dr. Smith-Moore offers the Board an extensive background in marketing and communications, as well as innovative leadership.
Travis Frey takes on the responsibilities of Vice Chair. Mr. Frey is Chief Technology and Security Officer with Dover Federal Credit Union, tasked with managing cultural, operational and managerial change by leveraging technology solutions to improve the customer experience. In addition to a 20-year financial background, he also has certifications in Disaster Recovery and Network Security.
Keith Kahn was named Treasurer by the Board. Mr. Kahn is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with Faw Casson in Dover, Delaware. He is skilled working with nonprofit organizations in financial services and tax compliance.
Dr. Bobbi Barends maintains her position as Secretary of KSI’s Board of Directors. Dr. Barends is Vice President and Campus Director of the Delaware Technical & Community College’s Jack F. Owens Campus. Her career has included oversight of marketing and public relations, fundraising and grant writing, and program development. In addition to other capacities, Dr. Barends serves as the Court Appointed Special Advocate for Sussex County advocating for children in foster care.
            KSI is honored to have these well-respected community and business members as part of its organizational leadership. Their contributions of expertise and energy help better the lives of people with varied abilities.
