The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) Board of Directors announced today that Dr. Dina Carol Vendetti has been named the next President of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce. This comes, following the announcement earlier this Fall that current President, Judy Diogo, will retire effective December 31st. Upon President Diogo’s announcement, a search committee was established and charged with leading the process of securing a new leader to fill the role of CDCC President. The committee, comprised of selected CDCC Executive Committee members and selected past CDCC Board Chairs, was charged with recruiting for the position, evaluating applicants, participating in interviews, and ultimately, recommending a candidate to the CDCC Board for approval.
Since July 2019, Vendetti has served as the CDCC’s Director of Marketing and Communications. She came to the Chamber after a 34-year career in school leadership, working as both teacher and principal. In 2010, she earned her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Learning, and Innovation from Wilmington University. Prior to her employment at the Chamber, Dina was heavily involved in various volunteer aspects of the Chamber since 2003. She is a graduate of the Leadership Central Delaware (LCD) Program (Class of 2004) and Leadership Mastery. She has served on the LCD Steering Committee since 2004. Dina was named the CDCC’s Small Business Person of the Year in 2011 and the CDCC’s Honorary Mayor in 2017. She has served on the Excellence in Business Committee, the CDCC Board of Directors, and the Chamber’s Executive Committee.
“The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce plays a significant role here in Central Delaware,” commented Vendetti. “I count it an absolute honor to be given the opportunity to lead this organization. I look forward to collaborating with our community partners and our business members as we carry on the essential work of our Chamber.”
Vendetti’s first official day as President will be January 3, 2022. Current President Judy Diogo will be retained part-time as a consultant to assist with the transition to new leadership.
