Democrats vs. Republicans “Pour” It On for Easterseals
Come support Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore and your favorite political team, as they “mix” it up as guest bartenders at the Two Stones Pub in Newark on Thursday, March 23 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. While serving drinks like “Make America Grape Again” and “Deep Blue Valentini”, each team will be competing for the most tips to see which side can raise more money for their political volleyball team in the 17th annual Democrats vs. Republicans Political Match for the Easterseals/CAI Volleyball Challenge.
House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst will lead the charge for tips for the Democrats, while Rep. Kevin Hensley will headline for the Republicans. Joining them (as of 3/9/23) are Minority Leader Lyndon Yearick, Rep. Michael Smith, State Treasurer Colleen Davis, Sen. Nicole Poore, Sen. Sarah McBride, Sen. Kyle Gay, Sen. Jack Walsh, Rep. Kendra Johnson, Rep. Deb Heffernan, Rep. Cyndie Romer, Rep. Sophie Phillips, and New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer.

The bartending event is just a preview of the fierce competition that can be witnessed when the two political parties face-off for the 17th year at the Easterseals/CAI Volleyball Challenge. On Saturday, March 25 at 8:30 a.m., the two teams will take the court at William Penn High School. The Republicans are currently in the lead, 10 to 6.
Along with the legislators, the community will be helping to raise critically needed funds for Easterseals services by participating in the Volleyball Challenge at William Penn High School on March 25 and Delaware State University on March 26.
