DART announced the winners of their Annual Statewide Transit Poster Contest. Four winners will receive prizes from DART and its Business Partners.
Over 75 students from schools and/or after-school programs statewide participated in the contest, showcasing their vision of this year’s theme, “Transit vs Driving - Go Green with DART”. Students were encouraged to visit our “Green-Initiatives” webpage where they could become more informed on DART’s Green Efforts, including the addition of electric and alternative-fuel transit vehicles into our fleet which will result in lowering emissions and reducing our carbon footprint. Students from 6th through 12th grade were invited to participate. A First Place Winner from each participating grade was chosen along with an overall Grand Prize Winner.
This year’s Grand Prize Winner is Biancaliz Rivera. Biancaliz’s artwork will be placed on all DART buses statewide and will be placed in several public buildings for thousands to see and appreciate. Her poster will also be featured on DART’s website, DartFirstState.com, the Heart of DART Happenings employee newsletter, in other business partners’ publications, and on DART’s Social Media.
The 1st Place Winners are 9th Grade, Xinran Zhou, Charter School of Wilmington, Ms. Chandler; 10th Grade, Biancaliz Rivera, Delcastle High School, Mr. Rykaczewski; 11th Grade, Alana Valtentin, Delcastle High School, Mr. Rykaczewski; and 12th Grade, Sean Griffin, John S.
