In honor of April being the “Month of the Military Child,” Dr. Susan K. Haberstroh, Director of School Support Services within the Student Supports Team at the Delaware Department of Education (DOE) will speak to the Dover Chapter of the Military Officers Association (MOAA) at their dinner meeting on April 21, 2011 at Roma’s, 3 President’s Way, Dover.
Haberstroh began serving as the State Commissioner for the Interstate Compact on Education for Children of Military Families in 2008.
In addition, she directs the School Support Services workgroup, which encompasses the areas of nutrition, nursing, counseling, school climate & discipline, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and other support services.
Dover MOAA meets the third Thursday of most months at Roma’s. Social hour begins at 5 pm, dinner at 6 pm, and the meeting adjourns by 8 pm. Menu selections are Chicken Florentine, Lobster Ravioli, Veal Picatta, and Lasagna. Contact LCDR Tom Smith at rotorhead65@aol.com to make reservations.

A native Delawarean, Haberstroh received her B.A. from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT, with a concentration in Political Science; Master’s in Public Administration in 2001 and Doctor of Education Leadership in 2007, both from the University of Delaware.
Haberstroh worked for the DOE for almost two decades in various positions Executive Assistant to the Secretary, Director of Policy and External Affairs, and Associate Secretary.
