Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant from DuPont to expand outdoor programming by adding additional outdoor furniture for their Adult Day Health Services, which include seniors, veterans and adults with physical disabilities. The expansion will help promote exercise and socialization, as well as, the added health benefits for the participants being outdoors, including decreased depression and anxiety.
“During the pandemic, many of our participants experienced isolation and lacked the ability to engage in exercise and outdoor activities. Thanks to the grant from DuPont, we are able to offer this opportunity to our program participants, Ken Sklenar, Easterseals President/CEO, said. “Easterseals depends on the support from our local community to continue to provide inclusive, quality and engaging programs so people with disabilities and seniors can live, learn, work and play in our communities.”
