CAMDEN - Bicycles, freight, downtown Dover Parking and more are on the Aug. 22 meeting agenda of the Public Advisory Committee for the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in Room 221 of the Kent County Levy Court Administrative Complex.
PAC members are set to discuss and vote upon a final draft of the MPO's updated Regional Bicycle Plan for Kent County. The PAC's vote serves as a recommendation to the MPO Council. A public comment period for the Bike Plan started on July 8, and expires on Aug. 9.
In addition, the PAC is set to discuss the progress of a parking study for downtown Dover that MPO and City of Dover staff have been working on for several months.
Other items on the agenda include a vote regarding a proposed change to the MPO's FY 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program. The amendment is due to DART's purchase of two buses in FY 2018. The PAC also is set to vote on a letter of concurrence about DelDOT's use of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program (CMAQ) funds, discuss amendments to the Delmarva Freight Plan and hold its annual election for PAC leadership.
The PAC is comprised of volunteers from the community. The group ensures that the MPO receives input from the public regarding all transportation plans, programs and policies that the MPO Council adopts. PAC members are appointed. They are business and civic leaders and citizens from diverse backgrounds who are interested in planning and transportation.
This meeting is open to the public, which is encouraged to attend. The Kent County Levy Court Administrative Complex is located at 555 Bay Road in Dover. For more information, call the MPO at (302) 387-6030 or (302) 387-6026.
