Regional Bicycle Plan updates, a downtown Dover parking study and the continued search for a new director are just a few of the things on the September meeting agenda for the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization's Council. The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the council chambers of Camden Town Hall.

Council members are scheduled to vote on an updated version of the MPO's Regional Bicycle Plan. The original plan was published in 2011, and work to update the plan began about a year ago. Other action items include a change to the MPO's FY 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program and a letter of concurrence about DelDOT's use of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program (CMAQ) funds. The TIP amendment is due to DART's purchase of two buses in FY 2018.

MPO staff also is set to discuss an ongoing parking study for downtown Dover. MPO and city staff, as well as consultants held a public workshop regarding the plan on Aug. 24. Council will continue discussion about the MPO's search for a new executive director and could determine if it needs to hold a special meeting  and executive session in October regarding this personnel matter. Other discussion items include amendments to the Delmarva Freight Plan and updates to the MPO's bylaws.

The MPO Council meeting is open to the public, which is encouraged to attend. Camden Town Hall is located just off of Voshell's Mill Road, across U.S. 13 from B&B Music.
