The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) hosted a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the new Delaware State University Center for Urban Revitalization and Entrepreneurship (CURE) facility on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at 205 South State Street in downtown Dover. Chamber members and friends joined DSU Dean of the College of Business Dr. Michael Casson and his team to celebrate the grand opening of their cutting-edge CURE business incubator and co-workspace.
The DSU CURE initiative offers a customized incubator and shared workspace experience designed to significantly enhance the success of minority and low- to moderate-income entrepreneurs. This initiative combines business incubation, co-working space, and economic development into a cohesive support system that nurtures small business growth and innovation.
The business incubator program offers small business training on subjects from financial management and fundraising to team development and more. Plus, this unique program offers private office space, one-on-one consulting, mentorship, access to capital, networking events, access to co-working space, conference rooms, podcast studio, ideation lab and training facilities, and economic and community development training for community and civic leaders.
In addition to CURE, DSU has also been working for over a century on accelerating the innovation and growth of Delaware’s economy by providing training and resources to entrepreneurs and small businesses through such entities as the Delaware Center for Enterprise Development (DCED), the University Center for Economic Development and International Trade (UCEDIT) and the Agriculture Extension program.
