There are at least two things business leaders can agree on: One - finding good employees is getting more difficult and Two – we need to find a way to keep the young talent we have in our colleges here in Delaware.
What we have found is that the student population is not
aware of who our local companies are, let alone what opportunities these
businesses have to offer them.
So, the CDCC has developed a program to address both the business and students needs –
The Emerging Employee Expo (e3)
This event will be
hosted on 3 of our college/university campuses in Dover:
Wilmington University – Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wesley College – Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Delaware State University – Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event will function as a traveling job fair at each location. For this first set of Expos, we will be limiting our number of participating business to just 20. Business representatives need to come prepared to talk with students about employment opportunities, internships and job shadowing programs.
20 Minute - Informational Sessions will also be held
in conjunction with these Expos. The
topics for the sessions will include:

Get tips on how to land that job! What are “soft skills” and why are they important.

How
to dress the part. The
ins and outs of business etiquette.
The
cost will be:
$275.00 – to attend all 3 $200.00 – to attend 2 $100.00 – to attend 1
(A table, 2 chairs and linen cloth
will be provided.)
All students who participate and meet the set requirements
of attending informational sessions and meeting businesses will receive a Certificate
of Employability.
