Easterseals Receives Grant from Bank of America to Promote a More Inclusive Community
Funding will support crucial programs and services to seniors and adults living with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore, a local non-profit organization dedicated to creating an inclusive community through innovative services for 75 years, has received a $25,000 grant from Bank of America. The grant will help Easterseals improve economic mobility and promote independence in the lives of people of all ages with disabilities, seniors, and their families.
“Easterseals programs and services are an essential part of our community and thanks to grants from companies like Bank of America, we can continue to provide exceptional services to the people we serve to enable them to live independently,” Easterseals President/CEO, Kenan Sklenar, said. “We appreciate Bank of America’s generous award and continued support of our community.”
The grant is part of Bank of America's philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees are selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs for people with disabilities. Easterseals mission is to provide services that promote opportunities for full inclusion in our community. Many of the people who participate in the Easterseals Supported Employment program continued their important work throughout the pandemic. After a brief shutdown, Easterseals reopened their day programs, which offer critical services to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as to seniors.
