Local tax preparation franchise, Liberty Tax just completed their back pack & school supplies drive and donated 100 back packs with supplies to the Dover Boys & Girls Club.
Doug Doyle & Scott Slacum opened Liberty Tax in Dover 21 years ago and have always tried to give back to the community. “Giving back to our customers and our community has always been important to us,” said Doyle. “Scott & I are locals. We live in Dover. We have been involved with sponsorships for Little League, Veterans Associations, FOP, food banks, turkey give aways, SPCA and may others”.
The effort started 6 weeks ago and concluded on Thursday Aug 29 with a BBQ at Mapledale Country Club where Liberty donated the back packs and supplies to staff & members of the Boys & Girls Club.
“When we decided to do this, we wanted to make a real impact, so we decided 100 filled back packs would be our goal. We also decided as a company, that we would match cash donations dollar for dollar. Our staff reached out to our customers, friends, business associates and family members and they came through big time,” said Doyle. “We are very pleased with the outcome. We hope this will help ease the burden on some local families as they send their students back to school.”
With more than 2,700 franchised locations across North America, Liberty Tax has been serving customers since 1997, offering fast and affordable tax preparation, Liberty Tax serves approximately 1.6 million consumer and small business clients across the U.S. and Canada.
“Dover has been good to us.” said Doyle. “We pride ourselves on 5 Star customer service and we appreciate every single customer. We will be here for a while, no plans on going anywhere.”
