Del-One Federal Credit Union was a proud supporter of the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the Hispanic fan engagement initiative, Copa de la Diversion (Fun Cup). This event was “specifically designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams’ local U.S. Hispanic communities”. The Blue Rocks celebrated this initiative during every Sunday home game during the season, and Del-One was the game day sponsor on August 18, 2024. Cape bags were given away to the first 1,000 fans at the ballpark, and Del-One teammates and their family and friends were there to support the team.
Del-One FCU President and CEO Dan McCarthy addressed the crowd and threw a ceremonial first pitch. CEO McCarthy stated, “Del-One is proud to support the Hispanic community within Delaware, and we are proud to be the only financial institution in Delaware with the Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) designation. We are committed to put our money where our mouth is in terms of supporting the Hispanic community”. Del-One FCU was chosen for this designation based on their commitment to serve and empower the members of the Hispanic community by employing bilingual, culturally competent staff and leadership, partnering with local Latino organizations throughout Delaware, and establishing an ITIN Lending Program, which allows non-citizens to apply for a loan using their taxpayer ID number instead of a Social Security number.
