CDCC Joins Fears Boxing and Fitness Club for a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the long-time-coming opening of this new busi
The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) hosted a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Fears Boxing and Fitness Club on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 32 West Loockerman Street, suite 101 in Downtown Dover. Chamber members, local dignitaries, Olympic boxer Nate Jones and friends joined the owner, Donnell Fears, and his team to celebrate the long-time-coming opening of this new business.
The Fears Boxing and Fitness Club offers general fitness and basic workout training in the sport of boxing, including training in basic safety precautions to help get each client started on their personalized fitness plan. Their services include a variety of classes, one-on-one training, family memberships, youth boxing and Zumba classes.
Donnell has been working on opening this business for four years, starting with a rezoning to allow for this type of business in Downtown Dover. He describes the process as “a long journey full of prayers and dreams.” Starting as a hardworking barber and hair stylist, Donnell always aspired to become his own boss. His passion for boxing dates back to his childhood in the Capital Green housing complex, where playful sparring with friends sparked an interest in the fight game. Despite not being a boxer, Donnell maintained strong connections to the sport, which carried through his youth and adulthood.
Years later, Donnell met life coach and boxing champion Bernard Miller, who mentored him both in life and the sport, inspiring him to pursue his entrepreneurial journey. Now, after overcoming life’s challenges, Donnell has proudly opened his new business.
Fears Boxing and Fitness Club is built on the principles of hard work, community, and personal growth. Their mission is to give their clients a positive atmosphere and healthy outlet through the exciting sport of boxing.
They are now accepting new members and look forward to helping clients of all ages and fitness levels improve their fitness and boxing skills in a supportive, community-driven environment. In addition to visiting the downtown Dover location, anyone interested in learning more about their services can visit them online at https://fearsboxingclub.com/.
